Drumcarban was a town in within County Cavan. It was East of the capital Cavan. Drumcarban was quickly becoming the largest town in County Cavan. The town had its own medical clinic, Marshall's office, jail, hotel, fire station as well as shops and a bar. The only known school in County Cavan was located in Drumcarban. A large dock was located just outside of town with a shop where one could buy a boat and tackle.
The town was known for it's number of houses, most built along a river and some overlooking the bay.
